The symptoms of a dying iPod battery

The Classic's clamshell body is press-fit steel — beautiful, and notoriously unforgiving. Opening it wrong leaves bent seams and dented corners, which is how so many DIY attempts end with a working battery inside a ruined body. We use proper spudger tools and jig technique, and the shell closes back like it was never opened.
